The trick to solar is independence.

You can leave the grid today if you want, even in the most urban of settings. Solar is self contained. Wind as well.

Son the reason there is little push for solar and wind power is because it takes the ability to make power away from the corporate entity and puts it in the hands of the consumer.

the government seems to encourage it here. people are selling their excess energy back to the "grid". the problem is that its a huge fucking investment.
