Do you use any freeware/shareware/open source software?

Normally I'm a pirate. Whenever I need a piece of software for a given purpose i just pirate the best, usually most expensive version. Last time I installed windows though, i was too lazy to pirate a copy of microsoft office.

Instead I downloaded OpenOffice, a free office suite, to hold me over until i got around to pirating MO. Over time though i've come to prefer it, its runs with alot less resources and i like the simplicity of it.

When i liked playing with images alot i also used GIMP for when paint wasn't powerful enough and i didn't want to kill my system with photoshop (although i never got REALLY into it, since i didn't want to learn two different programs)

Any free software you guys prefer over their paid for versions?

VLC and Chromium are my two most used programs right now.
I'm running a live CD of Ubuntu though, so everything's open source.
I need to get my PC fixed.

Seriously, if I wanted to I could just throw the next gay guy I come across right up against a wall and give him an anal assault and he wouldn't complain one bit.
