Game of Thrones, HBO's new series
I was never really turned on by the few previews I watched, but I just finished the first episode.
Awesome show, seems to be done really well, all the characters are great, the story looks cool, and its shot in some beautiful places. Another awesome job by HBO. Already 2 EPs deep btw. semi spoiler alert, typed in white for those who haven't seen it holy fuck at the ending of EP1

Read the books-
Also, the show is great. My wife approves. And for those of you who don't know the rank my wife holds in fantasy/scifi/geek world, that comes as a pretty high compliment. *please excuse the snootiness of that last comment Winter is coming. Last edited by HTAM; 04-25-2011 at 04:37 PM. |

the previews have been underwhelming and [based on the previews] it looked pretty lame (a watered down TV lord of the rings).
But after watching the first two episodes I'm into it. High production values, interesting writing, well cast, dozens of fuck words, tits and lesbian scenes - all the trademarks of the next great HBO show.

I had such high hopes for this HBO series. I know that it's getting good reception among the original fans of the novel and non readers alike, but as with all things novel to TV adaptation; it does little justice. The characters and sets are very well done but it's like having a small child read the novel back to me in their own interpretation.
I will say that Daenerys is fit as fuck - such succulent eye candy - but it's pretty "meh" overall. Glad they are going to do a season 2 though. At least the people who are fans of the TV show will learn the awesomeness that is Song of Ice and Fire.

Just finished Ep 1. Holy shit I can't believe that dude pushed the little kid, I really liked him! And that chick he was fucking was his sister right? I guess I shouldn't be surprised, but I still believe that happened!
Waiting very impatiently for 2 to download.

my boy shai JUST made a thread about this, its like 10 threads down in this very forum
ace series though, but i hate being addicted to television shows, its like needing your daily crack fix and you are forced to wait a whole week im gonna start reading the books i think. i read the first one but it was so long ago i genuinely forgot what happened. but then the show wont be as badass! part of the fun is not knowing whats happening in the damn scenes! for instance the one scene with the assassin and the dagger. i forgot what happened in that scene so i was literally on the edge of my seat while cat wrestled with that idjut and his dagger. then the wolf tore his throat out.
