This copy of Windows is not genuine.
Ok so I have windows 7 that came with my laptop (its legit i have a product cd key sticker on the bottom) but I lost the cd.
So I borrowed my friend's cd, reinstalled windows on my laptop and gave him back the cd. And now for some reason I keep getting this 'This copy of Windows if not genuine' notice. I click it and it brings me online and tells me to buy a new one and I don't see a spot where I can just punch in my product key. Help anyone??

nah it should be fine, i've always been able to update since using that tool. it removes the tool that checks to see if its genuine when you update.

o yea i remembered why i came in here. the other solution would to reset your comp to factory settings then the original windows should be reinstalled. but save all your shit first on a hd.

Why the chinese buddy? I think there's a chance all your passwords and accounts are already owned. Probably by some white dude with enough disposable income to buy computer shit.
