Battlestar Galactica

Any fans on yahooka? I missed it first time around because it was lumped in with star trek and stargate in the UK and I cant stand either of those shows so I sort of wrote it off without giving it a chance. I started watching it a few weeks ago on the recommendation of a mate and its excellent. Cant wait for the blood and chrome spin-off.

Ya I have seen them all a few times, good show. Caprica wasn't bad and was cancelled before it's time.

Baltar and Starbuck are my favorite characters.

I never missed an episode.

I'm pretty sure that Terry was a big fan as well.

Dark and hopeless most of the time, with politics and humanity traded for survival.

Caprica is good but it's a lot slower, you may not like it as much but I did.

Keep watching, without spoiling anything I must say seasons 2 and 3 will probably blow ur mind.

Strange how the original was total dross but the remake is really good .

I got to the part where some vigilante humans were holding tribunals about who was guilty of letting that big thing that happened happen.
And then I just stopped watching.
Don't know why, it didn't get bad or anything. In fact it was getting better.
But I just kind of forgot about the show.
I should start again.

Firefly is different Sci Fi-like Space Outlaw Sci Fi-they had plenty of places to hide out, and the crew could cover each others asses.

BSG is less than 50k of a species fighting for survival (against the monster THEY created), and two of the leads are responsible for all of them. Oh, and the best technology they have for defense? It's also been taken away from them by the monster mentioned earlier. SCREWED.

Character development is first class. I don't think they could of cast anyone better than the actors they picked. We have an acceptable audio/video set up and the sound alone is amazing if you can watch in 5.1. The space footage feels cold. The interior shots-you only have to smell stale air once in your life...ugh. When Adama and Tigh are reluctantly discussing problems over whiskey, you're sitting in a dark corner of the Admirals quarters with the smell of pungent old cigars burning in front of you. Combat shots are what Lucas really wanted.

More than once, I was pissed off at the end of an episode because they left it on a cliffhanger.

Thats one thing that bugs me a little about the show actually, how they say "frack" instead of fuck. I know its meant to be a nod to the original show but it always makes me think of people who are against swearing when they get angry

YEah it is kinda awkward, but I'll allow it.

Col. Ty uses it a lot in a funny way.

I like it, cause it allowed them to basically say fuck on TV all the time.

comparing frack to fuck is like comparing a nice little sweet baby with a middle aged child rapist

Can't say fuck on American basic cable.
