Help me buy a new laptop

I'm looking for a new laptop. My 5 yr old macbook is on it's last legs and I think its time for an upgrade. Although I haven't completely ruled out a mac, I'm probably going to go back to windows this time.

What I'm looking for:
-Decent amount of RAM (6-8gb)
-Dedicated graphics (preferably 1gb+)
-Small (preferably 15" screen) and lightweight

Here are two that I found at bestbuy:
HP Pavilion 15.6" Laptop featuring AMD A8-3500M Processor (DV6-6188CA) - Dark Umber : 15" Laptops - Best Buy Canada
HP 15.6" Laptop featuring Intel Core i7-2630QM (DV6-6195CA) - Silver : 15" Laptops - Best Buy Canada

hopefully you guyz can do better?

HPs are unnecessarily annoying to take apart. Do not recommend.

dude, you're getting a dell. the dell inspiron was the best performing laptop i ever owned. it wasn't fancy but it wasn't cheap either. it was just a solid performer. and the customer service is great. when i bought it all i had to do was call up and they asked some questions about my needs and then built the inspiron that fit me best. i dont' remember how much it cost, a tad over $400 I think in 2005 and it lasted years and years until vanity got the best of me and i wanted something "sleeker", an Acer, that only turned out to be a faulty pain in the ass.

i have a toshiba and it's been...... meh. i don't like the look of it, the case has a lot of cheap brushed plastics and crap. but the system itself has always run smoothly. rarely any glitches or freezes.

you can get fancy cases if you buy the expensive ones. my older toshiba is a tank and although bits of plastic fell off all over the place, it still works fine
