Counter Strike: Global Offensive

ESEA News - Content - Counter-Strike: Global Offensive

ESEA News - Content - Hands on With Counter-Strike: Global Offensive
(great interview)

Valve invites 20 top CSS players to their studio for unknown reasons, announces new CS:GO. Making game strictly for the e-sports community, and using input from the pros to help.

Multi-platform game, PC, PS3, and 360. Focuses on the 5v5 style game play that competitive play uses. All the old classic competitive maps, plus new ones, new guns, 2 new nades, and new skins.

Due out Q1 of 2012.

If done right, holy phuck I'm excited.

lol @ e-sports and everything, but playing competitively within organized leagues just adds to the excitement. With CSS turning to crap, and 1.6 being super outdated, there isn't really anything left keeping competitive play alive.

Hopefully this does.

The PC is the king of what makes 'e-sports', yea there was MLG with halo and everything, but Counter Strike/Source and the PC was what made competitive gaming. I don't know, I just enjoy the thrill of more organized play, rather than playing random servers/console play.

That SS looks exactly like source though, from the interviews I've read and watched, I expected more... kinda disappointed but it is pre-beta I guess.

I think that screen is source? Was more a dig at Valves policy on giving every character hats. Nothing against game leagues either brah, just the term "e-sports" sounds ridiculous.
