For once, Comcast doesn't suck

Which ISP Throttles Bittorrent the Most?

The Measurement Lab program conducted a study between mid-2008 and mid-2010 to see which ISP was the least bittorrent friendly (i.e. throttling down data transfer rates for the protocol). Turns out the historically-hostile Comcast wasn't the worst.

According to TorrentFreak, Comcast has been pretty neutral towards bittorrent after the government ordered them to stop capping ports (they were limiting 49 percent of all bittorrent traffic at that time), and only limited three percent of bittorrent traffic in the two year span. In the US, Clearwire was the worst, stifiling 17 of all torrent transfers, while Canada's Rogers was the worst worldwide, slowing down 78% of bittorrent connections. And on the other side of the pond, the UK ISP Tiscali and BT Group was found to throttle 27% of torrented 1s and 0s.

^ for sure, my best (fastest) downloads are from fios subscribers.

average is about 2 gig in less than 2 hours.

...I only have verizon basic. so my dl rate usually peaks at around 150k/S

^ that's what, like $100 + a month ?

my basic basic phone and internet (dsl) are priced at $34.99 but after fees and taxes it works out to $51.00 a month.

Phone (free long distance now-a-days), internet, and an upper lower cable package (no movie channels) costs us $150 per month with taxes. Break it all down and it really isn't THAT bad. I also get a discount on my cell since that is with Verizon as well.
