As far as I understand, you gotta do the 1st planet by yourself if you're not playing with the same classes.

So I guess we'd each make a new character and do the 1st planet and just leave them until the rest of us are done and then meet up?

I'd be down. Republic or Imperial?

Republic or Imperial doesn't matter to me, aslong as its a pvp server.
Republic would be cool though, I want to make a green guy.

Also, I believe its 2 classes to a planet, as an imperial you will start on Korriban if you are a force user (Inquisitor or Warrior) and Hutta if you are a non force user (Agent and Bounty Hunter).

I wish they would put something in that would allow Cross-server friend conversations.

Well I'm down, you're down, if waves is down let's do it. I think we're the only people on yahooka who play this. Too bad there's not a 4th person...

But for some reason turning UP Anistropic filtering and Antialiasing to MAX and turning VSYNC ON has increased my FPS by an average of around 10FPS in the open world and like 30FPS in the dungeons. Bioware are sick, sick people I tell you.

ps: I've been researching the history of MMORPGs and Asheron's Call sounds like it was one hell of a game.

I think after I'm done with this I'm going to find a more classic styled, completely open world MMORPG to play with. Cuz that shit is WAY more 'Ultima'te.

AC was fucking fantastic.. Played it instead of EQ back then because my uncle introduced me to it.. Which is crazy because my uncle is cool as fuck family guy/hunter/fishermen/beer drinker but here he was playing an MMO before MMOs were mainstream.

AC is still going with a decent player base and constant updates. Lineage 2 which is another sandbox style mmo has gone f2p but I think its been dumbed down a bit.

I resubbed AC like a year ago and played randomly for a few months but didn't play more than that. Was fun.

don't feel like starting another MMO thread so I just want to say the current progress/what I've seen on GW2 still looks and sounds fucking amazing.

This finally may be the one.

GW2 looks pretty dope.

And it's free to play so FUCK yeah, anyone can just try it out and no stressing whether or not you'll be able to run it (as was the case with SWTOR)

I think I'm going to be jumping on the D3 bandwagon, all my friends are playing it so why the hell not?

I don't watch trailers for games I want, so I don't know what to expect.

Expect Diablo.

I think it's safe to say that.

I've already got my copy 'pre-ordered'.

(I say pre-ordered because it came for free with a year pass to WoW)

My really short review of SWTOR at this stage of release:

The good stuff:
- the graphics were decent for an MMO
- the cutscenes and the story added to questing across the galaxy. Your character actually had a character. I haven't played any other MMO that has that.
- The fighting mechanics, though exactly the same as any WoW style MMO, were well done
- The shooter part of the game where you fly your ship around was actually awesome
- The way your ship looked.. somehow majestic and perfect.. as you approached it in the hangar bay....
- Companions. Excellent idea for when you're soloing. Finding them gifts, sending them out on missions, talking to them and fighting with them was a great addition.
- Flashpoints, though generic, are fun.
- Some of the locations are really great to look at
- It is Star Wars, so it's got lightsabers and sith and cool sound effects and it does have quite a good soundtrack
- The soundtrack. It is a great soundtrack indeed.

The bad stuff:
- A lot of the locations, though they may look great, don't feel great. Though they are very detailed, the atmosphere feels lacking. There's no weather effects, no change in the time of day, no critters or anything. It feels like walking through concept art at times.
- Fucking loading times. Holy fuck. Like.. what the fuck. Like 5 fucking minutes sometimes. And they happen all the time.
- No cool species. They're all basically humans with different colour skin and sometimes some flesh tubes coming out of they heads. I wanted to be able to play as a wookie or a greedo at least. Christ.
- TERRIBLE performance in PVP. It is literally unplayable for me. I can do a flashpoint and be fighting a ton of enemies with a full group of people and it will run well. In a PVP match it drops down to 8 frames-per-second, even in matches with only 16 people. Fuck that. A big reason why I stopped playing. The engine they chose has terrible optimization.
- Elevators. There are many of them. They are gay. That is all.

The ugly:

- Ultimately the biggest problem with SWTOR is not the stuff in the game that it does wrong, but that stuff that is not in the game period. This game was in development for like.. 5 years or something? And they spent over 100 million dollars making it... but it's just like WoW with a story, but kinda worse everything else.
The graphics, though technically more impressive in texture resolution and the like, aren't AS GOOD as WoW simply because there is so little going on in each scene. There's not a lot to make it feel alive.
It's also a pain in the ass to find groups. I love doing the group thing in MMOs.. I mean it's really what they're SUPPOSED to be about for the most part otherwise you'd just play a single player game with some online functionality. But in this I'd find myself going for hours trying to keep entertained doing some solo stuff while trying to find someone to play only to give up and hope to do a group mission the next day. I think I shouted at my monitor once, "IF I'M PAYING TO FUCKING PLAY YOU RIGHT NOW THEN LET ME FUCKING PLAY YOU YOU GOD DAMN GAME!" or something of the like.

Eh I just feel that this whole project was planned from a very unimaginative mindset. Everything seems to be designed based on market research. What has worked here. What has worked here. What do people like? Put it together. Copy and paste. Bippity boppity go fuck yourself EA
