From there I looked for suggestions on more stuff. Got turned onto a few anime series and am watching Code Geass Lelouch of the Rebellion.

Pretty phucking good so far. I'm 9 eps in and liking it.
Dude man, I myself love the anime world, and have been a fan of it for many years. Just wondering have you ever checked out:

Dragonball
Dragonball Z
Dragonball GT
Case Closed: One Truth Prevails

The Dragonball Z/GT is pretty popular so you might already know about, it's about a guy named Goku who travels across the galaxy testing his limits as a fighter, it's one heck of a kick but anime with constant fighting at every turn. The other one however you might know about. Case Closed is about a teenage detective that gets turned into a kid and has to solve crimes in order to get his real body back. The crimes in that anime are way more complex than the ones on CSI, Law And Order, Criminal Minds, ect...which only made it that much cooler. If you haven't seen ether of these, trust me, give them a watch.

Never finished Death Note, it started off really strong but kinda got bored of it 20 eps in..

Japan sparked my interest back into Anime.. Rented the box set to both seasons of Death Note.

Going with box sets of Cowboy Bebop and One Piece next. Library where I rented them might have more anime box sets or dvd movies that I didn't see.

I still highly recommend Code Geass. I still stand by my comment that its one of the best shows I've seen.

hmmm... most stuff I'd reccomend has already been. here's a couple films tho..

angels egg (created by same guy who did ghost in the shell)

grave of the fireflies

for shows..

legend of the overfiend (known for the first tentacle rape in anime).

looked for some clips but couldnt find any worth posting. well I found the trailer...

oh yeah, and the aeon flux animated series, especially the shorts from liquid television (if you can find them).

So while I wait to finish Death Note, currently watching with the fam, yes got the wife into anime lol and I'm watching with them so its like 2-3 eps a night, I'm watching Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood (which is FMA redone which everyone says is 100x better than the original).

Always caught a few episodes back on Adult Swim, but I never had any idea what was going on.

From the 3 eps I saw tonight its drawn me in heavily.

I've been trying to download the Flashpoint comics for the past couple days but I haven't had much luck. I've never been into graphic novels but I was always interested.

And anyway I read about this "Flashpoint" series on reddit a couple days ago.

It's an alternate universe where Batman dies, his parents live, his dad becomes Batman and his mom becomes the Joker so yeah I want to try to get this shit going.

I torrented one thing that seemed promising (from the comments and what not) but it's all .cbr files and there's on or two .cbz?? What the hell is that

this is what i'm trying to get at :

Mikey what you've got there is basically a digital comic book not a movie. I'm not totally sure you know that or not just saying.... You'll need software to read those types of files and I believe there's a lot of freeware out there that covers it.

This link will explain everything in detail an even provide a couple of ideas for software...

dont be ashamed FMA is an absolutely fantastic show. one of my favs

few more recommendations:

Moribito: Guardian of the Spirit - its about a badass girl spearwielder protecting a prince during feudal japan times. on netflix

Yu Yu Hakusho - Older anime, one the best of all time IMO. a fun show

Gun X Sword - Bout a guy named Vaughn as he looks to find the man that killed his wife. good show.

oh holy shit... you probably havent seen motherfucking FLCL yet

watch FLCL. (pronounced fooly cooly). By far one of the best shows ever omg. It is only like 6 episodes or something but it is generally recognized as being fucking amazing. its on netflix too justsayin.

TBH i liked them both, and idk if id say i liked brotherhood more or not. They both had their draws.
Some episodes/parts were done better in the first series and viceversa.
i recommend watching them both as they are different enough where you wont be bored and you will get a lot more from the show. Just give it a little time between watching them and you'll be gold.

the ending to brotherhood was far better though.

yeah id say watch brotherhood if you are only gonna watch one of them.

i liked alphonse's voice actor MUCH better in the first one though. I also think i liked the villians overall in the first one more. (might be getting mixed up though cause watched both idk

I always thought Brotherhood was like a spin-off or some shit...I'm just watching regular old Full Metal Alchemist.

A few movie recommendations too. Some have been said already no doubt.

Bebop movie is a must

Trigun Badlands Rumble - They just made this movie like a year or so ago after like 10 years since the anime ended. Same voice actor for vash. Really well done. (trigun is by far my favorite anime)

Both ghost in the shell movies

Akira - One of the OG anime movies. One of the best of all time of course. Amazing

Spirited Away - also a fantastic OG anime. just incredibly well done

Paprika - mindfuck of a movie in a good, well done way. Seems like inception ripped off their ideas from this movie brutally.

Origin: Spirits of the Past. : Great anime movie about how the plant life that they were developing to be able to thrive in space ended up taking over the planet and becoming sentient. Great flick. really enjoyed it

ummm i got more just drawing blanks. ill hit up this thread later.

oh also, for another anime show, Highschool of the Dead is a good one. One of the better zombie concepts ive seen plus nice anime boobs and stuff. Funny and well done.
