i am looking for a pre-built very powerful gaming pc. I was looking at alienware but i have a feeling there is better alternatives to them that are perhaps cheaper.

anybody have any ideas? looking to spend $1,000 to $1,500

any info would be greatly appreciated. thanx in advance

i got the last generation of this, with an upgraded video card, it was the one with 3 7s in it 7770 or something like that , its still there the 2gb one. but mine was just the last gen processor i7, still awesome.

i got it on sale at best buy for 799 bucks like 8 months ago- and it is seriously so fast and awesome i couldnt even imagine needing anything better.

it runs first run new games blazing fast.... and as long as you dont need to run the absolute newest games on ultra setting (which mine does but if you want it to be really high fps you need to put it on like high settings instead of ultra for the really newest best games)... no reason to spend an extra 500 or 1000 bucks when it will be replaced by something better in a few years anyway imo.

i have nothing but good things to say about it- get yourself a dell 24 inch flatscreen (the 399 dollar one is absolutely kick ass). and upgrade the hdd and the graphic card to the best one, and your still looking at only 1400 which the alienware one with a good monitor is gonna be at least 2k.

i would seriously buy another one if it broke today, its perfect it works so good and its so fast, i havent even thought about my computer since getting it because it works so flawlessly and perfectly no matter what im doing.

in case the link doesnt work its the dell xps 8500 with the upgraded video card to the best option availible and the i7 processor. (now its an even newer generation then mine and the same price) . edit- i also see you can upgrade to the 24 inch nice monitor for only 329 if u buy it with the system i bought mine after and it was 399

Pre-built is a terrible fucking idea. They will screw you over. Everyone raves about Alienware PCs but Alienware charges like 500$ for simply putting it together. Buy all the separate parts from newegg.com and either build it yourself or have someone with skills build it. Trust me DO NOT BUY PRE-BUILT UNLESS YOU ARE AN IDIOT.

1500$ can get you a damned good computer but only if you do it RIGHT.

He clearly mentioned pre-built folks. I think I heard that dell or hp bought alienware not too long ago. I remember reading something about the quality diminishing within the brand.

Honestly, at least here in Chicago, craigslist is a goldmine for dirt cheap awesome performance desktops.

Check your craigslist, people build and sell their shit cheap all the time here in Chitown.

got one from them like 4 years ago. you can go with an already configured gaming PC, or pick out your own parts, or edit a pre configured PC.

much better than buying from Alienware or Dell.

Not bad of u insist on buying prebuilt, tho I agree with what most pol are saying that building ur own makes for better deals if u source the parts right
