In Time
I just watched this movie, and I thought it was really interesting. The premise (which is, if taken literally, kinda stupid) is that in the future, the currency used is literally minutes, hours, days, and years off your actual life. The other premise is that Amanda Seyfried looks sweet in her underwear, but it's the first premise that I intend to discuss here.

I liked the movie because it takes the idea of money to it's logical extreme. Money is our world's currency, and it is almost totally necessary to possess it in order to survive (especially if you want to participate in our civilization in any meaningful way). In the movie, it just wipes out all the loopholes, and makes the currency survival itself.

And the interesting thing is, you see the very wealthy seeking immortality itself, at the expense of many others' lives. In our own world, that's not so off the mark. I mean, you have to ask yourself, "Why would someone seek to possess thousands of times what they need? What are they ACTUALLY trying to accomplish there?"

I think the ultra-rich ARE trying to buy their way out of something. Maybe it's not death itself, but maybe it IS the basic insecurity that goes with living. You can't really escape that, just as you couldn't really become immortal in the movie, but people, in their deluded ways, still try.

Anyway, cool flick.

I want to see that movie, looked awesome, really cool concept.

I turned it off after 15 minutes...The concept was disgusting, and just plays into the idea of either being one of the have or have nots...Further stratifying the line that there is no middle...

Would not recommend...
