Whitney. It's about 220 miles of High Sierras trails. Got the idea in my head after reading Muir's "My First Summer in the Sierras".

Check this out:

I want to hike it alone, too. Just solitude and the mountains.

That's really awesome Rev! You should just get on the tread mill right now and start walking.... see how long it takes you to cover that 220 miles.... then do it again!

You'll be in shape in no time.

I REALLY hope you get this hike on man.

But I still encourage you to do some of the smaller retreat stuff.
Like REALLY look into going to a monastery or Zen-centre for a week/end.
It's a priceless time. I'm sure you'll really get a lot out of it.
There might be a work exchange as well that'll cover costs.

I wish you all the best on your journeys and finding that quiet place Bodhi-Brother.

Yes the movie is flawed, yes the story is flawed. But I walked away from it realizing that what a human simply wants is harmony. Harmony in their natural state. Today's social bodies are too large to allow individuals to be authentically natural. While an overabundance of solitude can very easily misconstrue context, and be self-serving emotions that are in reality, false. Most humans need a balance to be healthy because it offers the appropriate amount of objective and subjective experiences. It offers the relativity to keep his motives in check.

The whole "Happiness is only real when shared" is a bit misleading though. Because while it touches on truth (being that we all seek evidence of our existence and motivation via love) Happiness can be and is individually felt. .It is not "only real" when shared..The words instead should be "Happiness is only verified when shared." Verified because it can thus be further understood
reverie.... has anyone said how AWESOME it is you're around again?

Thanks for the insights, and especially about the ending.
I'd say that is how I experienced the line,
But as a 'motto' I think your manner of saying it reigns supreme in capturing the heart of the message.

Haven't seen the movie or read the book, but I need to get out and go on an adventure of sorts very soon, getting sick of all these foul smells in the air lately, for some reason Kingston has an odd smell to it.

Cheers!! I forgot how much I missed this place!!!

Yeah I definitely hear you. I'm just a huge stickler for language...and I had my own complications coming to terms with how the movie ended/ phrase. I had to rephrase just for myself so I could better accept the sentiment.

Such a great watch. And what a perfect backdrop for Eddie Vedder's solo work.

Woah brah, I didn't think you were being serious at all, I have a hard time seeing you pointing out someone's mistakes for a laugh, I myself got a laugh out of my stupidity.

I didn't think you were being snide in the least
