Web browsing issue (halp plz)

So the whole reason I attempted to roll back my pc was because web browsing had become so slow it was impossible

I'm not sure why this is, running several different anti virus and spyware programs has done nothing to help.

When I restart I can open a browser and maybe load one page before it begins. This seems to indicate some sort of malware issue. Any ideas?

I've run avg, spybot, super antispyware, shitty new adaware antivirus and mcafee.

Ive also made sure all of those program were closed and not interfering with the process.

I'm sure this all comes from looking at porn. Never happens on my fuckig iPhone, next computer is going to be a Mac for sure.

Chrome and same results if I use IE.. I was unable to download FF due to the dilemma to experiment.

But Since posting that I was able to DL and run AVG PC Tuneup and repair 300 some errors to registry, deleted mcafee, adaware and super anti spyware

Now im able to browse.

friggin AVG pc tuneup says you get 24 hours to use it and i only got one. uninstalled, deleted cookies, rolled back clock and still wont work. scam.

sounds like your browser is running phatt.

too many svchost/services running.

check performance with browser(s) running.

see who/what is using up all your compute cycles.

get this if you havent

Malwarebytes : Free anti-malware download

If there is anything on your computer it will find and kill it

i dont even have a live antivirus program anymore. Havent for a long time.
Just run this program to clean things up every once in a while.

get rid of all those other antivirus programs you have.

get adblock on chrome too.

its normal to have alot of svchost services going, because svchost is a generic service used by tons of other services on your PC.

you can read about it here: What is svchost.exe And Why Is It Running? - How-To Geek

how difficult is it for you to wipe your HD and reinstall a fresh windows geeno? i do that like once every few months just to keep my computers performance up and to work out all the bullshit.

if you have a pre-built PC by a corp like gateway, hp, etc, they usually include a boot disk that will help you to reinstall windows and wipe your HD. if you have any data on your current HD to keep you can either put it on an external HD or burn it to cd/dvd.

other than that you can either keep running free virus scans or take it in to the repair man. sounds like you already cleaned the registry and if there is a virus of some kind it seems pretty deep in your shit if you ran all those antivirus and they picked up nothing.

Actually I updated the time on it, ran that avg thing, go Adblock and everything is smooth.

This is actually the pc I was using to store data from my main while I reinstall windows there

I dl windows 7 ultimate but my main pc is win 7 pro refurb. Something tells me that product key won't work in ultimate.

Had the same problem on the main and probably could have solved it the same way but I tried to roll back and fcked it up

New question. How do I backup drivers as mikey suggested? Or could I just partition the drive and do a fresh instal on the new partition?

I dont know exactly what he means by backup your drivers. It could mean alot of things. Im going to assume he means to make a copy of all the drivers the computer uses so you can install them all at once without having to hunt them down on google one by one. although often you can find newer versions of drivers on google that increase performance, so even if you have backed them all up i would still hunt down the more important ones like video card, sound, motherboard, etc.

I dont recommend partitioning, especially with windows partitioning which is shit. i would only partition if i had an active backup drive that was backing up all my shit daily.

I would just google all the drivers you need and burn them to a disc or you could even upload them to a free cloud service on the internet. They arent big at all, usually only video card drivers are large files and you shouldnt have to back up those drivers anyway because you can simply download them from your vidcard manufacturers website at any time.

or you could buy a cheap ass USB key if you dont have one. all you need is a few gigs if all your backing up is drivers.

first- are you using a self-built computer or a pre-built?

when it comes to pre-built ones like the ones you get from HP and dell, thats easy cuz you just either find your restore CD that came with your computer or you go to their website and they should have drivers available for download. best of all they should have a complete copy of the restore cd that you can download and burn if youve lost it.

if your using self-built parts you first need to figure out what mobo you are using, (the ethernet ports im assuming are built into your motherboard, your not using a separate ethernet card are you?)

heres to figure out your mobo:

How do I find what computer motherboard I have?

once you know what model you have its as easy as googling the model number and drivers and you should be able to find them that way. if you have older shit it can be harder to find them, but anything built in the last 10 years should be easy to get online.

i would agree with him that the ethernet port would probably be a smart driver to include, because without that the computer wont be able to access internet. once you have ethernet up and running and internet, you can probably just download the drivers from the internet using google.

It sounds to me like thats exactly where hes at

reformatting is not a big deal at all....you get rid of tons of stuff you dont use and you get tons more space....

FOR ACTIVITIES!

i reformat my comp once every couple months to keep shit at optimal performance.

if you have stuff on the HD that you absolutely need you can just take it in and get it transferred doesnt cost that much...

I think it might be pOssible to replace that dll file and get windows to boot.

I'm gonna try in a minute.

It's a compaq but it's a refUrb from goodwill computer works. It has a "win7 pro refurb" key on a sticker On the side but they never have me any discs

And to make things clear I've already backed up all my music from that hdf
