Wow, Just put Chrome on my laptop....

This isn't my first encounter with it on a laptop, and I've really been enjoying it on my tablet.

Mrs. Tree asks me why it's not on the computer, said I didn't know.

So today I put it on and I'm pretty impressed. Firefox is what I was using,
which isn't junk, but idk.... there is something really clean about this.

Ok: Question- I just tried to italicise 'really' there by 'control + I' and nothing happened.

How do I amend that?

It's noticeably faster I have to say.

Impressed.

Noticing how it runs on the computer as smaller processes....
I'm wondering if this will also help with over heating and shutting down?

Kind of a noob post... but oh well... more naive questions have bore grand discussion...

So if you want to share any features that might be interesting or of use,
get at me

Chrome is the best imo. Although I cant help on the italicise, it does have an incognito mode so your history doesnt have to be erased when you wanna look at some naked ladies on a shared computer

Nice to see you have converted.

I love chrome.

First couple of things that you should get from the google web store are some extensions

Adblock Plus, makes youtubing and general browsing much smoother

Flashblock, will block any instances of flash in pages, so no autoloading video adds, or tabs making noise. You can set which sites allow flash so you don't have to click on every video each time.

I also use WOT(web of trust), which puts green, yellow, or red circles next to every link to warn me if I am about to tread into dangerous territory. It is user based so you can vote on the safety/content of links to raise their reputation. It's pretty handy

If you use reddit, get RES(Reddit Enhancement Suite), it has numerous benefits. Shows vote counts for all posts, helps manage accounts, and lots of other goodies that streamline the experience.

Make sure to sync your accounts in the options menu, so your bookmarks and browsing history floats between devices that are synced with your google account.

I haven't used firefox for about 5 years so I don't know if it offers a similar feature but if you right click on a tab, you can "pin" it meaning that it will hang around and auto load even when you shut your browser down, which is great if you need quick access to sites and want to save a bit of time.

My Momz bought me a Nexus 7 for my graduation present.
It's been really handy travelling, especially since I don't have a phone.

Really have enjoyed the Android/Google

I have had a "smartphone" for a year now, a Samsung Galaxy sII. I really dig it. It runs on an Android OS. I fought with the idea of a smartphone for many years, but last year when it was time to get a new phone, I really didn't have an option. My good friend runs several Sprint stores, so he hooked me up. I couldn't image my life without it. They really are amazing pieces of technology, too bad all I really use it for is buying drugs, Yahooka, and porn.

This device only runs on local wireless internet....
but I suppose I could purchase a hotspot and data plan, basically making this a big phone.

I use it up for wikipedia, listening to music, skype and of course Yahooka.

Recent use it sitting around, watching hockey and reading about the players,
where they were traded etc.... catching up with the teams again, since stuff is always changing.

It's funny to have something that advanced, after having nothing for years.

Ah, nah man... haven't had the Jeep since June 20th, this year.

Sold it cheap.... real cheap... in northern Maine.

It needed more work and money than I'll have for a while.
And now I live in a city again, so no need for one really.

Be careful with one of those hotspot cards. My boss a few years ago spent a Grand on data while on vacation. He is an idiot and didn't pay attention to roaming and data usage. I am sure you would be much more responsible, but it is possible to get caught up and burn a lot of cash.

Firefox is great, it has lots of good features and can do a good job protecting you, but yes, Chrome is noticeably faster. I use chrome for general browsing.

ChatZilla is good for IRC, so I open FF, ChatZilla and then close FF.

That the only downside I've noticed so far.

All else is still grand.

Then you must be the Devil's advocate, because I was just making a LoLzy retort to your comment.
