What TV are you watching now??

Why dont we have a separate TV thread?

Lets start this shit bitches.

I just started watching "masters of sex" its actually really good. and ive had a serious crush on lizzie kaplan (probably butchering her name) since party down and true blood.

Also tried out sleepy hollow, if you can suspend disbelief its a pretty entertaining show. kinda like american horror story lite.

Also watching/watched Masters of Sex, great show, season finale set up the second season nicely

The Blacklist is worth a watch, good cable thriller, like silence of the lambs/hannibal without the cannibalism.

The last season of Treme is wrapping up, it is HBO's forgotten show, but has maintained its quality through 3 full and 1 shortened finale seasons.

Hostages is pretty bad but has me engaged for some reason, it has a pretty good cast and is widely unbelievable but engrossing nonetheless.

Starting on Jan 13th the dudes who make Archer have a new show called Chozen which I've got my eyes on.

And, we are watching all those bad/slightly humorous cable comedies as well but don't need to be mentioned by name.

American Horror Story is probably the guiltiest pleasure I have, because it's probably the stupidest show I've ever enjoyed.

Homeland and Boardwalk just wrapped up and they were both solid this year.

I heard Arrow is good but haven't seen it.

Same here, I watched the first couple episodes of Arrow but wasn't at a place where I wanted to keep up with it week to week. I have both seasons dl'ed and sitting in a folder waiting. If I watch it soon I'll let you know.

i always get "archer" and "arrow" mixed up. i need to start watching both shows.

american horror story is some well made shit, i dont think you have to feel guilty about it. im loving this new angle that horror and fantasy television (true blood, sleepy hollow, etc) are taking where they just arent afraid to be completely absurd. like they willingly go way over the top knowing that if you, the viewer, buys into it you are in for a real treat. the narratives for each of the seasons are all pretty well-written as well, i didnt like s1 as much as i liked s2 and s3 is turning out pretty good.

its probably my favorite show on tv right now actually. but thats because im a horror/fantasy type person. i love when shows go really far out there. im not at all into homeland type realism shows nor was i into 24 or any shows like it. as soon as game of thrones starts back up that will reclaim number one of course but for now im totally a AHS geek.

That shit was awesome.

My favorite episode was the one where he hung out with the construction workers.

I do like American Horror Story quite a bit, but how can you truly respect a show with dialogue like this: "Are you mad you can't be one of them because of that smelly clam between your legs?"

Yeah I like that show b/c I like Steve. I think Karl Pilkington has the best shows to his name since they all went solo however. Moaning of Life probably won't reach our shores for awhile, if at all, but it is fantastic and easily findable.

I wish the boys would get back together for more podcasts though. Those were the best Jerry, the best!

Sorry for the triple post (not really, I love doing it) but I also liked Hannibal quite a bit. Great acting, decent writing, fucking GORGEOUS cinematography/direction.

The only thing that irked me was on a more social/moral level i.e. it is extremely violent, and much of the violence is very sexual. Keep in mind this is a NETWORK program. on a NETWORK that would not think of showing bare breasts or man-ass (unless it's a fat man ass one-off) but doesn't shy away from dead, naked dismembered women whose cold naughty bits are cleverly concealed from the camera. It's a bullshit dichotomy and this show if anything else shows the inherit ludicrousness of American censorship.

But none of what I just ranted about is Hannibal's fault, more ours as a society, or maybe just the suits in charge of all of it idk. Watch Hannibal. Sounds like it would suck, but it's pretty good.

Tele-vee is a wasteland, I watch the (local) news, national is propaganda, BBC news not so bad.
I sometimes watch Simpsons reruns, loved Malcolm in the Middle rr's, but they changed over to Simpsons rr's. Antiques Roadshow (not rr's) = get in touch with your inner greed!
A few other pbs shows when in season, , , -c-

tee-vee is definitely not a wasteland. we're currently in the golden age of tv and right now more good shows are being made than have ever been made at once before.
