Pokemon Go?

Anyone else playing it on here? I've been seeing tons more people in the parks, all looking at their phones, lol

This game came up fast. One day, business as usual. Next day, wild Pokemon craze is sweeping the nation. I wish giving middle aged men blowjobs was this popular.

It's pretty cool. I just came back from a family reunion and we went to the woods and found a lot of pokemon/ It was pretty fun and a good bonding experience.

i think you either have to be jailbroken or just make a US app store account with a random US address. like just make a fake email and google the address of a public library in des moines iowa, then don't enter any payment details.

I'm not exactly a hacker over here pal.

Geeno 07-11-2016 04:21 PM

is this game actually played with others or what

Sage Tree 07-11-2016 04:27 PM

I saw like 5 people staring at a manhole cover the other day.
It does seem like a gang activity.

To answer geeno's question:

In order to get items you visit "pokestops" which are located at different public landmarks (like churches, statues, or anything else of interest). In order to battle (though the combat system sucks) you go to gyms (also landmarks). Hatching eggs and catching pokemon entails a lot of walking around town (pokemon are more common in parks and eggs hatch based on kilometers traveled under a certain speed).

There's also stuff like dropping lures, an item that attracts pokemon and as a result a bunch of other players. Some businesses even drop lures to get pedestrians to show up. Yesterday I saw someone has dropped a lure near my apartment, and when I showed up there were dozens of players there. Trading and stuff is supposed to be added soon.

You definitely can play alone but the game causes players to congregate together and if you're feeling social you can definitely meet people. So far I've seen mostly people in their late teens to early thirties, though there have been some children and older folk.

If you live in a rural area the game probably sucks since there are no landmarks to get items, but in cities its a lot of fun. Every single park, bar district, etc I've gone to has had people playing it.

One cool thing I've noticed is that certain parks where you would NOT wanna go after dark alone have become safe due to the large number of players present.

Could be fun.

I cant into vidya but I might try this.

Xil 07-11-2016 04:51 PM

Be prepared to occasionally get laughed at by people who are too cool to have fun. Especially popped collar boyfriends accompanying their girlfriends (who are playing).

Geeno 07-11-2016 05:06 PM

Registration server is jammed. fml

Xil 07-11-2016 05:10 PM

yea the servers are pretty fucked. nintendo/niantic underestimated the number of players by millions.

Geeno 07-12-2016 01:26 PM

So I got in and I caught some pokemon at work today.

Working at a HS. Tried stealing some kids pokemons, didnt really work.

TBH i dont know how to play this besides walk around and catch pokemon.

That's pretty much it. Walk around, catch pokemon. You can "transfer" (sacrifice) them to get "candy" which is used to evolve and level up your pokemon. If you get high enough level you can go and take over gyms.

Just got back from ~3 hours of walking around a shopping center/park catching pokemon. I'm beat. Goodnight everyone.

shai_hulud 07-13-2016 06:07 AM

so the best way to level that i've found is hold off evolving/transferring common pokemons until you are level 9 and get the lucky egg. you now get double experience (using the lucky egg) evolving them (1000 exp instead of 500!) and can advance 3 levels easy. boom level 12 whaaaat. (results may vary depending on number of evolves)

hoard your low level duplicates people!

It's been great. I've been touring the neighborhood parks at night with the lady when we would normally be chilling inside. Been going downtown on the bus often, when normally it's once a month.

Obviously this is a money making piece of software, but it's been nice to go outside and talk to strangers about if they found that golbat.

That said, I think I'm the only person in the world on team intuition (yellow) lol

Happy hunting
