Fictional characters you "get"

This is by far the gayest thread I've ever posted (actually they've all been pretty gay) I was thinking about how much enjoyable a form of media is when you can kind of sort of relate to one of the characters. It allows you to think about the show, the themes in different ways. This is why I fell in love with Mad Men. The past few years I've been at a war with myself. You know? Self destruction with a heathy dose of self loathing? I'm not nearly as charming as Don Draper but the entire existential despair thing I really connected with. Along with his boozing, womanizing and hatred of religion are all things I know too well.

Was wondering if their was a character from a film, show or video game you could particularly connect with?

Eh nothing that's really stuck with me for years, usually it's character I really relate to because of whatever they're going through in their life...

I'll try to think a few
John Cusack's character in High Fedelity.. basically someone who's been repeating the same mistakes and is about to make the same one, but then realizes this time they're growing up.

The guy in SLC punk, big time for a while in my later teenager years before leaving home.

Nick Cage's character in Adaptation

Actually the most significant would be John Cusack in Better off Dead. Oddball romantic with an overactive imagination?
That's a lot of me.

It's very good. I was also to say Patrick Bateman, Travis Bickle and Trevor Phillips but I enjoy my freedom too much.

I've always considered myself to be a fictional character.
