Elliott Smith...

Where in the fuck is the love for this wonderful wonderful man and his great music?

(Sorry, I'm a bit drunk and watching video of a performance of his.)

Uh, assuming we're using emo to mean sad, then yeah, I'd agree.

Either/Or is probably my favorite album, I've got everything he ever put out and never put out, so a couple of my favorite songs are non-album songs.

There's apparently a "new" album coming out sometime in 07, no one knows any details but apparently his family let it out that something will be coming out. I'm hoping it's the stuff that was meant to be on his last album that they didn't release and hasn't leaked.

Even I have to admit I love Elliot Smith. This is not usually the type of music that appeals to me, but it's just too fucking good to ignore.

I would not appreciate music the way I do now if I'd never heard Elliott Smith. 'Alphabet Town' makes my heart explode. Highly recommend this song.

Good tunes for drinking alone..

Also check out Heatmiser. It was his band prior to him going solo.

ps. I didn't know that it was his heart. I knew he stabbed himself twice but didnt know where.

Wow, this thread got much more of a response then I assumed.

I'll second the Heatmiser recommendation. Trash Treasury is a very good website, as is elliottsmithbsides.c om.
