Transferring music from desktop to laptop

What's the easiest method?

Just wondering. It'd be nice if I could have all that shit as portable as possible.

When I had to do that, I installed and ran a program called 'beinsync'

it's freeware to try or whatever from download.com and worked for what i needed it for.

BeInSync - Reviews and free BeInSync downloads at Download.com

put the folder into your ipod by either itunes or just putting it straight on. If you do it through itunes download idump and dump the songs on your other computer

Yeah, I'd put it all on an ipod, then rip it off of it with iDump.

I used an ipod for something like this once, and it changed the names of all my files to

JKHK
DPOI
ELWL
DPWD

and so on, but I dont think I had good software on my side.

Thanks for the suggestions. Who will loan their iPod or external hard drive?

yeah the ipod backup program does that, but better (still free) ones work correctly now and keep the names/id3 tags intact

go into my computer and locate the ipod then put the music directly on the ipod without using itunes. this way it acts just like an external and no need to fuck around with programs
