Dave Matthews...

ugh.

Okay. As a general rule I hate jam bands and/or anything of that nature that's too laid back/free form blah blah blah. A while back I was watching House and the song Some Devil (from his solo effort I believe) came on. Anyway, I developed a giant hard-on for the song, and thought perhaps I'd misjudged him (also has a lot to do with the area where I live and work, every DMB fan is a Natural Light swilling, jeep driving, popped collar douchebag).

In a nutshell what I'm asking is if I was to branch out from that starting point, where to next and does he have any other shit that sounds like that song.

I think Under The Table And Dreaming & Before These Crowded Streets are their best efforts but they don't really resemble his solo stuff.

I personally think DMB is awesome but they had a very small threshold of awesomeness.

Glad to hear it.

Didn't really say it was a great song, just that I developed a hard on for it. It has more to do with it being in House and it being a pretty topical song as of late for me.

Crash is pretty fucking decent. Worth being part of your collection. You and I have some pretty similar tastes, or at least so it seems outwardly, so I doubt you'd disagree. So Much to Say is one of my favorite songs to play. I don't know what his solo stuff is like, or the song you mention, it's downloading atm. But Crash is well put together, mostly generic, good songwriting. It's not supposed to be anything else, a studio alt-pop album.

Everyday album, meh. It's okay.

All DMB is meh IMO. I used to be all about him but now you couldn't pay me to put him on.

Two Step is a good song. Find a good 10+ minute live version.
Tripping Billies is aight.
Jimi Thing
Big Eyed Fish

That is all.
