Band of Horses...

...were surprisingly the loudest band I've ever seen. Wouldn't think it, but they were. Not heaviest, but loudest. The main dude is Ben Bridwell who was in Carissa's Wierd along Mat Brooke was in BOH for a bit, but he's now in Grand Archives who are also on Sub Pop.

As for what they sound like they get compared to My Morning Jacket a lot, only I like them more because they seem a little tighter and rockier. His vocals get compared to Jim James/early Neil Young or Wayne Coyne, but I don't really think it's derivative or anything. It is the perfect music to go for a nice drive while high when it just starts to get warm out.

Anyway, I love them a lot, and here are their two albums while I'm on my uploading spree.

As the first line of the wiki entry states "Not to be confused with Horse The Band". So no, absolutely not.

Right on. Can't stand that music.

Similar to My Morning Jacket, nice. Thanks for the ups, I'm gonna check them out.

Really dig the album art too.

Never listened but I hear horrible things.

BOH I absolutely adore.

I have both albums on vinyl and a poster of the second albums art, like it very much.

Great live band, saw him break a bottle over his head for percussion at bumbershoot last year...see them live if you can, everyone...

Fuck MegaUpload's new Captchas... I had to redownload EATT and it took me 12 tries to get it right.

That's just one of them

my morning jacket is similar but with a wider scope of songs(due to the age of the band)...I give both my full endorsement...

Agreed. MMJ is a little too laid back for me sometimes though as I said so I dig on the more amped up side of things.

they do delve into some pretty floyd tastic 'chill' jams, that can wear out their welcome pretty quick...

But they do imbrace the jam which is huge for their blend of classic rock, country, indie, and so forth...

Great band. I saw them live a little over a year ago and they were really tight. I just saw that Girl will be releasing a BOH skateboard deck to coincide with the new album this summer.
