How to write songs on the guitar...

There are few things that are better than rediscovering a great discovery you have forgotten about.

A few years ago, I came across this book called 'How to write songs on the Guitar'....I initially brushed it off, but ended up picking it up and thumbing through it. I immediately realized I needed this book for my arsenal of reference.

I found it the other day while looking for some old lesson material, and, once again, it pushed me right out of a rut I have been struggling with.

It's written by a Brit named Rikky Rooksby, and is available on Amazon.com for less than $20 USD.

I would strongly recommend this book to anyone who plays the guitar regardless of level of playing ability. It is a wonderful explanation of chord theory in layman's terms with a shitload of references to songs we all know.

You will immediately benefit from this book, of that I am certain.

I jam therefore I am......

HTAM.......there may be a few poems in the Writers Joint that could be put to music. There's quite a few gems hiding down there!

Agreed, the books are very resourceful. However, I bought the GG 'Chords and Voicings' DVD from Adam Kadmon, and, well, I though it was CHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEES E!!!!

Some useful knowledge, SOME, but it was outweighed by the corniness of the production.

Go for the book by the Brit.

I'm not sure I could trust somebody named Rikky.

Any idea how helpful this would be to us bass players?

(or if there is a bass equivalent?)
