I don't know about the fake part. I Googled "Susan Boyle fake" and got a bunch of sites with peoples opinions and no facts. On the other hand, leave off the word fake and add the word, news, and you get news stories about her. Granted, most of those stories are repeats of what other news agencies say, but I did find a small Scottish news source that talked about how her home was mobbed by people, how haggard and frustrated she was getting over the attention, how the towns people thought of her as 'slow' and the kids called her 'stupid Susan', and her next door neighbor just loved what was happening.
Do I think that maybe the producers found her, as is, and knew it would help their ratings to stun everyone? Most likely so. Don't they generally tell people how to appear most presentable? Now her voice....I think she sings beautifully. She doesn't appear professionally trained either. That song, 'I dreamed a Dream', is not an easy song to sing well. Listen to Elaine Paige's version. Susan blows her away. Elaine is technically more on, but Susan's version evokes the emotional response that that song is trying to provoke. That's what I see anyway. |
