get dub side of the moon and radiodread if you can. seriously though the commonly held golden era of dub and reggae was 30 years ago.

Props on Augustus Pablo recommendation

King Tubby is prop my favorite dub artist. I also have a great album called Star Wars (various dub artists) from like the 80's...I'll upload, it's a rarity and must have for dub fans.

I also been getting into John Brown's Body...Among Them is my favorite album (and song really) thus far.

Amazon.com: Among Them: MP3 Downloads: John Brown's Body

Well they were on top of their game at Reggae Fest last year and I've caught them a couple of times at the Flamingo Cantina and they were pretty good. Don't know what's gonna happen with the band now that Josh Heinrichs is gone... Guess good music is all a matter of opinion.

Eh, that's kind of a vague statement. If your talking about Marley and Tosh, honestly some of their stuff throughout their careers is straight-up pop. Just because some established "golden age" has passed doesn't mean that people haven't gone further with reggae than its originators did.

the commonly held golden era i believe would refer to a period of time when most of the "classic" albums of a genre were released, and so by that logic I would say that the golden era is long gone. I admit you are right, in a sense. In much the same way that, while there is wonderful classical music being produced today, common practice period classical music is basically renowned worldwide and still outsells any classical music released today.
