lol great thread idea.

most of the time i defend musical opinions of others regardless of what they are because i understand that different people have different musical preferences, but one thing i will never understand is why so many people enjoy listening to the whiny emo pop rock that is played all over the place on popular radio stations.

it's really the one genre of music that i can find no inherent reason for its widespread popularity...one question i like to ask myself about different types of music/artists is whether or not i think people will still be listening to it or something similar to it 30 years from now. classical, jazz, country, rock, hip hop, and now even stuff like house and trance are starting to show that they have that staying power.

the emo bands won't though, imo.

all that said, i used to like this song a lot:
