I just got an hour long mix of dubstep from a friend called

Fabriclive_37 (or something?)
Mixed by Caspa and Rusko

you'd prolly dig it, the bass is sick like 17 minutes in, actually the whole hour is retarded I love it. I'll try to find a link

edit- can't find a link

but this mini mix is raw!

I used to love dubstep

About 3 years ago I was heralding dubstep as the music of the future, the music that could take over from my beloved D&B.

How wrong I was.

I was enamored with artists such as Skream, Shackleton and Boxcutter. Guys that could fashion a musically great tune.

Then the wholeng thi turned to shit in very much the same way that drum and bass did many moons ago. It would be too easy to blame Caspa and Rusko for this and so I shall. Their breed of WOOOOMMM WOOOMMM Waaaa LOUD NOISES dubstep fits exactly in the same role that the identical jump-up D&B guys (not mentioning names original sin) did years ago. The same old loud caustic sounds delivered in the same way every song.

The Caspa and Rusko Fabric live is an obvious example of this. Every song is harsh wave bass over and over.

I still love dubstep. I've been listening to it for the best of 5 years for god's sake so I've got to like it I guess. But my taste has changed and it's pretty much getting to the point with me now where it's easier for me to say that I no longer like dubstep.

To finish I'll post a few of my favourite dubstep tunes as I will remember it

This is prob my favourite dubstep tune of all time

<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/ZfmFdZ-mb0A&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScree n" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptacc ess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/ZfmFdZ-mb0A&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="a lways" allowfullscreen="tru e" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

somemore

Seriously, if I wanted to I could just throw the next gay guy I come across right up against a wall and give him an anal assault and he wouldn't complain one bit.

i can see what you mean, oldschoolstyle. Caspa n Rusko in the early years were pretty dope, imo. Their shit lately is not up to par at all. I will say i think that some of these "dubstep" effects are being overused just a bit as well. For example that chainsaw noise everyone uses now is getting kinda old....

but hey .... its better than country music

most dubstep is just a low frequency oscillator filter. But I lately I've just been feeling it. The programming in it is just so "wow" to me. I'm sure I'll get over it but for now, dub on!

fungus to this -

Dude in the minimix the duke nuk'em clip(17 minutes in maybe) "yippy kiy yay ya motherfucker" made me geek out haha. Love a good clip. They need more christopher walken clips in electronic music.
