i'm a fan. there's a great album out there, something like 'daniel johnston, discovered and covered'. disc one has most of his best songs, disc two has the same songs covered by lotsa good indie bands.

the documentary was neat...definitely worth the watch. the man's got demons.

Yeah that cover cd is amazing. I can't remember who does what on there but I know Beck, Wilco and the Unicorns have all covered his songs.

The movie is incredible. It was the first time I ever felt positive about having psychotic breaks and manic episodes.

His best albums in my opinion are Songs of Pain 1 & 2, and Yip Jump Music.

I saw him play for free at amoeba records in Hollywood once, and then again later that week at the Henry Fonda theatre...I believe it was the fonda...or maybe it was the Ford...?
