Seriously, if I wanted to I could just throw the next gay guy I come across right up against a wall and give him an anal assault and he wouldn't complain one bit.

i'd say try recommending yourself some new music...

it's alot more rewarding and enjoyable in my opinion, to find a band or artist that is just amazing who no one has told you about and you had to find yourself.

a good way is to even go to an artist's myspace, look at their influences/sounds like sidebar thingy and research some shit about whatever band names you may find there...

idunno dude.

Got some nice things there, Beatles, Modest Mouse, Radiohead, Jethro Tull, all amazing.

Try going back into stuff like John Coltrane quartet, Buddy Rich, and Miles Davis, Art Blakey

Some newer stuff, Aphex Twin, Boards of Canada, Autechre, Squarepusher, Andy McKee

I didn't look at your profile so I don't know what you like but most people can appreciate an eclectic array of artists and styles. This is just some of my playlist, there is plenty more of just about any genre...

Just about.

Thanks for all the suggestions guys... can you be a little more specific though? Like a couple albums from each band... I don't want to download 15 albums from one group if only one is actually good.

Tribe Called Quest - Low End Theory
Brand New - The Devil And God Are Raging Inside Of Me
Balmorhea - Rivers Arms
Gaslight Anthem - 59 Sound
Jawbreaker - Dear You
John Coltrane - Giant Steps
The Mountain Goats - The Sunset Tree
Portishead - Dummy
REM - Green

Minute long random pick and choose from winamp. You want any info on it or an example gimme a shout.

Throw in Elliott Smith - Either/Or and Heatmiser - Yellow No. 5 EP because it's criminal not to have either.

I agree with No1, its the best wat to really know a band. Anyways,I listed my fave cds for some of them, but any cd from all of them is going to be good.

Muse - Absolution

You have so many other recommendations and I have more as well, but with 15 album limit I'll just suggest just this one!

And if you can stand hard stuff (and are a fan of the likes of Dream Theatre perhaps), Colors by Between the Buried and Me is the best progressive metal album going IMHO. It's a musical journey from start to finish, with plenty of surprises!

yeah Quiksilver Messanger Service is great psychedelic jam tunes

also a good album is Moby Grape-self titled first album

<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/ioKodbNTljg&hl=en&fs =1&"></param><param name="allowFullScree n" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptacc ess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/ioKodbNTljg&hl=en&fs =1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="a lways" allowfullscreen="tru e" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

and Bearsy you probably have this classic but if not, check out Jefferson Airplane-Surrealistic Pillow

<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/ufb3jHSRMSU&hl=en&fs =1&"></param><param name="allowFullScree n" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptacc ess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/ufb3jHSRMSU&hl=en&fs =1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="a lways" allowfullscreen="tru e" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

probably my favorite psychedelic rock album ever is Country Joe and the Fish-Electric Music for the Mind and Body

<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/h6MKfmjCDkU&hl=en&fs =1&"></param><param name="allowFullScree n" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptacc ess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/h6MKfmjCDkU&hl=en&fs =1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="a lways" allowfullscreen="tru e" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

and last but certainly not least, The Doors-An American Prayer. I'm sure you've probably heard some if not most of the Doors' music but this album is not as well known, it is basically some live tracks along with Jim Morrison's spoken word overdubbed by the remaining members of the Doors after his death.
