Stream new Flaming Lips album Embryonic

Check it out:

Stream available at Colbert Nation | The Colbert Report Official Site | Comedy Central

Sounds tripped out as hell...definitely a throwback to their early stuff. They always are pushing the envelope. Enjoy!

which to me is a stamp of approval, so i cant wait

thanks for the heads up

I would definitely say that's the best way to describe it. Can't say I'm too into it...I'm still a dedicated fan of the overly happy tripped out sounds of Soft Bulletin and Yoshimi....Mytics and this album are steps towards more organic styles. Embryonic sounds like if the Velvet Underground had a bad trip but they ran into Spiritualized and they jammed out together while drinking heavily.

i listened to it all the way through in the car today

i love it, perfect mix of old school freak out and new school sound, plus i like how songs just sort of ramble on and get loopy in some parts

also the song with the robot voice is really nice

They really can't go wrong...I imagine we will have many waves (no pun) of different styles that await us in terms of their musical journey. This particular sound doesn't personally vibe with me, but I know it's true art no matter what.
