"Weird" Al Yankovic appreciation thread

"He who is tired of Weird Al is tired of life". - Homer Simpson

I've loved Weird Al from day one; listened to his tapes religiously. There are so many good Weird Al songs, it's hard to choose one. As a matter of fact, I don't think there is such a thing as a bad Weird Al song.

I guess this one holds a particular personal nostalgia to me.

But also, the guy made some CLASSIC vids. Hey Ricky was great.

Seriously, the guy's entertainment value is golden.

after a dr demento tape, my first real music album was weird al's alapalooza. i've always thought his parodies were truly ingenious. my brother had a vhs of all his videos up to the time, and lthat caught as much play on my vcr as jurassic park. if i had to choose faves i'd go with amish paradise or white & nerdy. i don't consider them classics but they are amazing and do well to showcase the talent of a true master at work in his craft.

the weird al secret to success: replace a word for a funnier word.

im bad to im fat

stop dragging my heart around to stop dragging my car around

gangsters paradise to amish paradise... and the hilarity ensues.

but srsly, im a weird al fan too. even his movies. uhf is a cult comedy classic

Dr. D played Al's very first recording, another one rides the bus.

That's Ray Manzarek on keys on 'Craigslist' by the way..

Yeah, that song is a great way to kill 13 minutes or whatever. Trapped In The Drive-Thru is another good long Weird Al song. You just can't listen to Weird Al and not appreciate the little things in life.
