Lost all my music need help

I so a while back the external I had all my music backed up on died. This was fine because I could just copy it all off my ipod once I got a new external. A few days ago my ipod died too. Now I'm screwed, that was a bit more than 50gbs down the drain.

I'm going to use this thread to make sure I don't forget to download something when I get my new ipod. If you guys have any suggestions let me know.

eh. that looks pretty good to me. eventually you gotta accept the fact that your ipod only holds so many artists anyway.

How do externals die? I thought they were just a memory holding system and didn't figure it could be lost since it's just 'on' it.

What is the 'safty'? Zipping back up discs of songs and pics or what?

He's asking what's the best way to back up the back up... DVD/CD recordable media can go bad as well. If every 5 or 10 years you make new back ups you should be fine.

I lost all my downloaded music and started only listening to things I've purchased, or downloads offered up from artists themselves. It's much more satisfying

Not really, I know I bought a CD years ago can't remember what though. Also, my cousin's wife is an independent artist and has a single out, eventually I will buy it been too lazy though.
