I actually just heard some pretty good bagpiping on the radio, it was modern and well.....good. I'll have to find it, wherever it is.

I lived 3 houses from the park above an old girlfriends garage many, many moons ago and a few Sundays in a row in the spring time I was awoken at 6am to the sound of pipes in the distance. Far enough away it seemed sort of unreal, maybe it was the radio in my groggy state after a good Saturday night, gone by the time I had come to enough of my senses that I questioned what it was.

One Saturday evening I was out particularly late, getting in somewhere around 5:45am on Sunday, the night isn't done until you go home right? Anyway as I'm frying some baloney and an egg for a quick snack before bed, just a little something to settle the tummy, I hear the pipes. Now I may have been a little buzzed but I was still wide awake or at least fully coherent of my fucked uppedness and I thought 'okay, what the fuck.' I put my pants and shoes on and headed out to the park after the noise.

Like a scene from a movie he stood on the hill in the mist in the center of the park, I could see a man in a dress in the early morning mist playing what I found out later was Van Halens 'Panama' on a set of really bitchen' bagpipes. His name was Mark, a college student from the local school, seems he liked to roam different parks in the city and practice the bagpipes because as it turns out they can get pretty fucking annoying if your room mate happens to play the bag pipes for fun.

Never heard his pipes again after that morning.

/thread jack. Carry on...

People actually enjoy bagpipes? Well I'll be damned. I wish I could hear Panama being played on a set though, that would be a life defining moment.

This is badass. Try drinking an entire bottle of scotch and see if it doesn't make you want to dance around.
