same here, i saw them in 09 at bumbershoot in the rain and it was a way better show than now, they just seemed flat, and low energy...

yeah, it has a couple throwbacks to their old style but most of it is arena rock fodder...

Just got my Tickets for Sunday at Bumbershoot over Labor day...This year they wanted to "scale" down on the big name bands and try to hype regional and upcoming talent which lead to an overall "weaker" lineup...But being the smelly hippy that I am, the attraction was strong enough and the price was right@ $30 a head... This means a day of getting drunk in the middle of seattle while listening to some pretty chill tunes will be had. Later in the evening there is a late night "dance" thing featuring Hot Chip, DåM-FunK and an Artist TBA hat runs from 10pm to 4am which sounds pretty dope...

Shigeto would be the one artist in the lineup I would HAVE to see.
Classical jazz drummer turned insanely creative beat maker extraodinaire. Tycho Happy sun-tinged BOC style beats. Apparently his new A/V set up is pretty dope. HOLY SHIT
So, last night John Butler Trio was supposed to play in Ottawa. shitty weather and the main stage collapsing cancelled the show. Just got the update from a friend (and confirmed it on JBT's facebook page) that he is playing a GUERILLA BUSK set in a park downtown near where I work. Oh man this is the best news ever! I was pissed that I had to miss it last night, then relieved that he never actually played, and now he does this! AMAZING!!!

nice dude saw him at rothbury and he brought great energy. hes a man of the people.
pitchfork fest went down this weekend but i had to fucking work so i couldnt go  watching youtube vids now and reading write-ups about the water shortages and heat im almost glad i get to use modern technology to chill in the a/c watching High def youtube vids

One of the best musical performances I've ever seen. Everybody was hurting after from smiling so much. Then me and my friends all got drunk. Best Monday Ever!
Oh, and it turns out I was sitting right next to his wife and two kids the whole time - Pretty sure my smiling face will be in their family photos! Man, what a priceless performance!
