i found it really interesting that once they interviewed justice, both guys said electro means nothing to them

i think the video is really cool, to me it kinda explains why people have such a hard time saying oh this track is X genre and this track is that genre. the progression of electronic music is coming at the listeners from so many different direcitons, its cool to be able to listen to the intersections of different styles and how they blend into new sounds.

I started to watch it, but honestly that kanye bit did annoy me. I wouldnt contribute anything to him, and its not a personal vendetta type thing, just think hes irrelevant. Seems like lazy reporting. ... havent watched it all though, gotta get time to sit down and watch it through. Thanks for the linkkk

Yeah it's pretty high praise to claim Kanye was "instrumental bridging the gap between electronic and mainstream.

ETA: Pretty decent documentary actually though.

i should edit the op. you have to watch the whole thing. its quite in depth into the history of electronic, specific focus on electro house. the thing is broken into chapters, the first one with the kanye talk is an intro. it talks about how the industry is run and bedroom producers, lots of interviews with big name artists etc.

basically to sum it up they say electro is a mixed sound that draws on many other types of music and is hard to trace because it comes from all over

If you can find it full lenth online mafoo, add synth britannia to that edit. It's a great look on early british electro. If I recall correctly, they also talk gear a bit.

It's good man.

Good show thread wise.
