you could split hairs forever explaining differences between dance music genres, theres loads of genres with "techno" in their name that are miles apart from "real" techno, bouny techno, hard techno, hardcore techno etc
The hard rooms at uk raves get referred to as the techno room even though they dont play techno and never have
