How loud you listen to your music

I wish I could blast my shit over big loudspeakers, but that's practically illegal. I can turn it up to about 20... max. Otherwise, I have to use headphones, which is weak.

Loud enough that I can hear every instrument. Quiet enough so that it doesn't hurt my ears.

My office at work - it is closed off from the main lobby by glass windows. Looking in, thing would seem completely silent - - -

BUT NO!

It's actually blaring MUSIC!
Upon opening the door, SOUND WAVES cum out

i like to use my headphones because they go extremely loud and can handle most anything my computer can put through them.

as far as how loud, when making a song i usually start at a hi volume, basically where if i touch the outside part of the headphone i feel the bass drum hitting. then from there out i vary the volume alot to help get a more accurate mix.

but when no ones home i bump it pretty loud on my speakers. dont know the db rating or anything lol

When I am cooking and driving I blast my music.
I turn it up to 11!

It depends on the the type of music.

I've been know to have loud music coming from my vehicles and sometimes my place. I think Merc means 20% overall volume.

I'd say in general I play my music pretty loud.....
It can usually be heard in the hallway somewhat coming out the apt. door....
But I try to play it by the hour of the day on the levels coming out through the walls...
I'm on the top floor and don't imagine there is much down sound coning through, as it usually seems to rise....

So just some rocking out squirrels and racoons at worst

being a Dj i have permanent tinitus on my left ear. When i work i have no choice but to have it loud (anything from 90 to 129db).

but when at home, i always turn it down to senior-citizen levels

go figure..

That's completely arbitrary though. Not that we need to get dB specific, but we'd need to know where 20 falls in the range of your volume dial. Is it half? Is it max? (etc)

Back to the question: Unless I'm trying to focus on something else, I'll usually put the volume half way or 3/4 up.

When I'm working I keep my headphones quiet enough so I can hear if someone is talking to me.

I love headphones...Especia lly noise canceling....I tend to listen to the point where i can pick out instruments but not so loud as to obscure the sound...

When I do unplug I will rock the stereo at low-mid at the loudest (nice system/respect for roomates)

When I go to shows, I will like to be as close as it takes to not need earplugs if possible....
