what do you mean? i didn't give them GOOD reviews. i'm just talking about something that's relevent. not like they're MY top 5 songs. but i am an avid radio listener and i hear those songs 100x and i now feel obligated to register an opinion.

6. We Found Love - Rihanna I really like this song a lot. It has very strong techno elements and a kind of timeless feel to it. The lyrics aren't plentiful, it's more about tone and the tone of this song is genuine, I think. Also, the chorus is pretty original "we found love in a hopeless place" i think we can all relate to. 7. Sexy And I Know It - LMFAO This song is better than Party Rock Anthem, but it's still an epicly annoying song. This is the current epitome of mindless music that is meant to excite retarded people. The delivery is humorous, yes, but not in an endearing way. The video is also annoying, with the guy wiggling his penis in a thong. In short, LMFAO doesn't want to be taken seriously, so they wont be. 8. Pumped Up Kicks - Foster The People I am midly shocked to see that this song is at number 8 on the charts... STILL! This song came out in the summertime and was a refreshing sound at the time, but aren't people over it by now? It's November, the song just doesn't sound good in November. Also, the freshness has faded and I'm predicting Foster The People will end up being a one hit wonder. 9. In The Dark - Dev This is one of those songs that is tailor made to get stuck in your head, especially when you don't want it to be. It's a sexual song, latent with innuendo and it has lots of hooks to get you into it's groove. It's probably a song that sounds a lot better when you're on drugs. But when you're sober it kind of passes you by. 10. The One That Got Away - Katy Perry This song is probably the final single from Katy Perrys hugely successful Teenage Dream album. It's a teeny bopper ish song with some mature perspective on it. I do like the bridge of this one, it ties the whole song together nicely. The subject matter is sappy and cliche, but Katy Perry delivers as usual. Again, good album, good single. |

^oh yeah, that whole rockstar lifestyle seems to have fallen out of vogue. i doubt we'll ever see another Motley Crue or Nirvana on the scene, probably because the labels don't want to be responsible for the image.

Such songs are not worthy of my attention...Rock is dead, in my eyes Waves, they're all hipster "alternative" rockstars now. I'm not saying I don't like alternative rock though.

It's funny to me that Turm can remember when Dr. Feelgood was actually a new song because to *me* that song will always exist in a historical context.
But that happens... My little bro makes me feel old when I try to talk to him about music. Music from 2001 seems way outdated to him, but 2001 sounds like just yesterday to me. |
