Fond memories in spite of being there.

I still remember hearing... Bing Crosby and who? Bowie?

Man I dunno what to say.

I'm not ready for this. He's one of my favourite artists ever.

I don't think there's ever been a musical artist who put out such diverse music. From the bleak folk album Hunky Dorey, coke fueled masterpieces like Station to Station Diamond Dogs and Low, soul pop like Young Americans. top forty pop with Let's Dance .

He put on a good live show too.

RIP

Early 70's, Pittsburgh suburbs. Bowie was part of the era. Young Americans was getting radio play and we were young Americans. Fame, Ziggy and the Spiders from Mars. What's not to like? I was never into the glam or glitter lifestyle but Bowie, the Stones and Humble Pie, Zepplin and hundreds of others made it a special time. Seemed the songs lyrics had meaning. At the time at least.

Tears for Ziggy

Bowie changed the game. Not just in music, but art in general and pop culture for numerous decades.

I'd never heard of Lemmy until after he died. (I have heard of motorhead before but never cared for that style of music)
