Classical Music

The last few months, Iíve been really getting into classical music, especially string quartets. I always thought quartets were basically background music for finding your seat at a wedding. But there is some incredible originality in chamber music. Hereís a few of my favorites.

Love the first one.
The second two gave me anxiety lol
Like if I was driving I’d get road rage for sure or end up with a speeding ticket.

Really love the first one.

I’m trying to find one I heard the other day.
Gah!
I think it’s by Wagner:/
Is Wagner the same composer who was fired by Hitler because if he is, than it’s him.
I believe the song is called, I want to go to sleep.
I don’t think it’s wagne, I think it’s a prior.

Wagner was a favorite of Hitler, but he lived in the 1800s, so the two never met.

The first one is one of my favorites, by far. That’s just one movement of the quartet. The whole thing is great.

Ahh, okay.

So this composer I’m talking about was the composer to the third Reich until they found out he was not a true Nazi supporter. He was then fired.. went and lived a recluse with his wife. I just don’t know his name.. think it starts with an “S”

I’ll figure it out.
I don’t know much about the names or anything I just listen mostly.

I've been a lover of epic symphonies for many years.
I'd recommend to anyone that may prefer the orchestral variety, to listen to Igor Stravinsky 'the firebird' or 'the rite of spring'
and for the more adventurous, Gustav Mahler - Symphony No. 3 in D-minor.

Nice. The Debussy one was cool. I love Debussy. Clair de Lune, especially. It never fails to move me.

I have an album of them playing Glassís quartets. And the Mishima soundtrack, also by Glass.

Stravinsky is incredible. The Rite and Firebird are both masterworks.

One of my absolute favorites and way beyond the creepy intro part. I'm sure not many of you have ever heard the whole thing.

It's quite powerful...
