I thought rage against the machine lacked subtlety. These guys take the money making "we hate the government and love angst." money naking cash cow to another level. But they have punk credibility unlike those sell-out whores green day because they have that half sucky sound. You know. The one that is more a beat than actual music. the goal of alchemy is to turn lead into gold. to take a substance and combine it with another substance that makes it more than it's origenal worth. in this sense, you really need to start making bronze statues of your pharmacist or local chemist, for they have made gods own medicine, morphine, and in contrast, a shiney rock doesnt seem to compete.

Hmm lets see. They've got the guitarist from phish, les claypool and the drummer from the police.

God it's like they sat down and designed the tedium super group. Really it's just a ploy to sit somewhere between phish and the other one. You know the one. If they can do this then it's jam shows and stoner love till they get sick of smoking pot out of a solid gold pipe the size of an elephant's dick. It's everything that I hate about jam music. The twiddly guitars and long sections were nothing develops but it chug along.

JUst one more note; If someone is in a jam band which is successful they should give all the money away. To me.

John Lennon was the hippy one who did quite a lot of drugs and yet still had an unconquerable ego. The dude thought he was the messiah because he tripped out of his face. Then losers (ie. you) got hold of this fact and proclaimed he was the messiah. Both of them were wrong. Think of a song like imagine. Nice isn't it. Or "power to the people-right on!" how nice. Skinny puppy. The industrial band who also stand up for animal rights. There a few things wrong with that sentence. Firstly, the denotion "band" indicates a group of people producing music. This is not true for skinny puppy. I mean, what the fuck is this meant to be based on? Is it the heavier kraftwerk or the boring aphex twin? Both shitty options but that should be quite common place for this rag tag bunch of losers. They have apparently got great influence amongst industril groups which is like the alpha-nerd leading his nerdlets and deciding who is dungeon master. Secondly this group couldn't stand up for anything because they are weighed down by their self-loathing and tripple-hazelnut lattes. Plus the leg breaking I will apply to them. Oh and animals don't have rights.

I'm going have to steal a line from flamingnun here and say thisrbital is ikea in music form. It's sterile veneered wood with stainless steel and ambience lighting. COming out of the floor. Through pyrex. There's no passion, no love for what they do, it's all so clinical you don't know whether to admire the composition or not. Here's a clue; not because this thing is meant to be rough and underground not something that they would put over the top of an advert for flat-pack furniture.

Oh wow steve Vai man he uses guitars that aren't like other guitars. I am so glad he did this so that he couls rise himself up from the other dross that exploded after Zappa showed that there will always be someone stoned enough to buy your record. The only difference is that VAi takes his music to all new levels of circlejerking amongst "those fans." Seriously though, if you keep increasing the level of accessory sounds in your music (if you want to nkwo what I am talking about listen to a Steve Vai record.) but don't advance your ability to intergrate those sound into your music, it's just annoying sound never mind the fact you've put a 100 pieve orchestra behind it.

Paul Gilbert never really achieved anything. Apart from being another one of those guys who could play guitar and had long hair. I see you have a preference for that kind of thing.

Isaac Hayes. He did shaft and walk on by but I don't exactly remember any other golden turds. They don't really have roots his songs in the same way that other artists at the time did. They're just ballady pop songs with a black voice. A rather one note black voice as well. He made all of this up later by playing chef on South park.

Yngwie Malmsteem is the height of everything I do not like about technical classic rock. Do people seriously sit there and spot the fact that he's using minor chords rather than major? A classical song being played as a guitar solo is not a good thing; it's auditory pornography for those with the fetish. the fetish for men with big hair and small leather troushers playing a guitar with seven strings. There's no soul or substance it's all the same showing off that keeps the fans happy and me pissed off.

I cannot be the only one who wants to kick Damon Albarn in the head and show his my disappointment with the gorillaz.

1)The cartoons. Yes it is cool and it does show a progressive move but isn't this really the height of style of substance? The absolute most you could do would be to totally remove the real members of the band in order to produce music that cannot be played by a band. They should show about twenty charecters in there videos including one very over-ambitious producer.

2)The sound. WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU TRYING TO DO DAMON? There's genre crossing and there's trying to pass yourself off as a band and a hip-hop kind of thing with electronic bits and halloween sound effects. Plus shit like 19/2000 which, god I don't know. Get the cool shoe shine? What the fuck does that mean?

3)The guest appearances. The gorillaz first album was not particuarly laden with guest appearances. The second well, you can see that having your videos played on MTV does allow you to afford your musical ambition. Or just splash out on getting De la soul to rap like ten lines and danger mouse to produce.

4)The fact that 80% of their songs are a huge disappointment. They are if I am totally honest. They can create some things which are listenable but for every one of these there's some abstract compilation of sounds that Mr Albarn found up his arse.

He dropped that working class act and joined the fashion-art crowd pretty quick too. Around the time it got cool and lucrative.
