Ta folks.
Seaflo- The clones in soil are watered with tap water pH adjusted to about 6- 6.5. The clones in rockwool are watered with the same tapwater but with a very small amount of formulex (gentle 1 pack nutrient). We`ll see how long they take to root then pot them up. I`ve never cloned this strain before so I`ve no idea how long they`re gonna take.

Still doing OK. Notice the ones in rockwool are looking a little less tatty than the ones in soil.
I`ve acquired a min/max thermometer/hygrometer. Temps are between 16.5 and 20 which is a little lower than ideal but not terrible. Humidity around 95% which is OK, maybe a tad high.

I think your soil has less aeration than your rockwool; maybe add more perlite to the soil. I see more and more using pure perlite for cloning. They look good, real good.

Yes, I think you`re right about the aeration.

Three clones are showing roots. All three are the ones in rockwool with the base of the stem peeled (if you remember we`ve got three different kinds).
These three are just about ready to be potted up.

Do you just plop the rockwool into some soil when the roots are set in enough or do you have to somehow dislodge it...?

You`ve got it. The rockwool would be difficult to remove without damaging the roots.

- The batch in soil are peeled, the unpeeled ones are the second group (as yet unrooted) in rockwool. It`s the cat`s whiskers for cloning.

Yeah, but tap water costs me nothing and is always on hand. I would bet rockwool is quite the novelty around here.

I would think rockwool insulation would work. I havn`t tried it though, it`s worth paying not to have to mess with the stuff.
