One of the clones in soil is showing roots.

Potting up is very easy. Place clone gently in pot of soil. Add extra soil (more than these pics, ran out of time for photo`s) to cover roots, covering up some stem is fine but try to keep the leaves above the soil or they may get dirty when you water the plant.

1 (female) parent plant still has no rooted offspring so I`m still in suspense.

Last pic showing the stragglers in the propagator.

Note- temp showing (15.1) is low because I`ve had them out of the cabinet.

Edit- one of the unpeeled clones has rooted, three of the peeled, one in soil.

If you`re leary of getting the clones in soil out of their tiny pots without trashing them, you can get little pots made of compressed peat so you can pot up the whole thing.

i dont like those peat pots much, too many reports of people killing seeds/clones. You normally add hot water to expand them, people put the clone in while it's still too hot. They can cause probs with watering too. They hold alot of water, so can be too wet, but if let to dry out the can become water repelent and stuff you up that way.
I can get peat premolded into a small pot, they're ok because you fill the pot with soil.

We've tried them and they dry out pretty darn fast, so fast sometimes that the babies die so we benched them.

They`re the ones I meant. I don`t think they`re really necessary anyway, it`s not too hard to transfer the clone methinks.

According to the instructions on my bottle of Rootone, it says that I should dip the end of the plant into the mix at least a 1/4 in above a node and to bury the stem 1/4 inch above the node. Making a hole in the medium with a pencil and pressing the soil around the cutting to make it secure.

I will have questions in about a month, but right now, I'm just reading up on the subject. Not really looking for details on how to so it, but more info on the number of days or week I veg a clone before forcing it to flower. Everyone vegges for their time, I just need an average.

If the clones are taken from a plant which has already shown preflowering then those clones are ready to flower once they have roots. That is if you want to keep them short.
Of course you can veg them for longer if you want.

LOOKING GOOD Farmer; I have not had much luck with soil indoors. The shit keeps getting bugs and the nute issue is beyond me.

I find it harder to clone into soil.

I`m not sure why, maybe because it`s hard to keep the soil at the right humidity. If the soil is too wet then no air can get to the forming roots.
With rockwool or coco you can`t go wrong as long as you don`t let it dry out.

The shot is a bit overexposed but it shows that they`re happy enough with a lot of light which is what I want.

The plant in the top right and the one partly out of shot in the top left are something else, ignore them

Some of the parents were male so I havn`t kept all the clones.

Notes about potting up.

You can use a richer soil mix now the clones have roots. You still want a soil mix with good drainage properties.

Potting straight into big pots may not be the best plan. Root development is often better if you pot up in stages.

Be careful with newly potted plants and strong lighting. Even though they`ve got roots they will be unused to getting a lot of light. Move them closer to your lights in stages to let them adapt. The clone shown was put right under a 200w cfl the day it was potted up a while back. Doh! However after a week recuperating further away from the lamp she recovered well.

Nice babies. Our babies are under high volume cfls while they are still in water but I am sure I am doing them no favours.

That first one was a stick with a few green spots I placed in the parfait cups de eu and it ended up turning into a beautiful bush that yielded very well.

Dan do you add or modify the water in anyway (add nutes / PH / etc...)? I tried that way many times but never had consistency. I have found that using real sunlight works wonders on cloning.
