Question about young, leggy plants...
I've read several posts in which a grower is having problems with leggy plants. And, it brought to mind the following hypothetical question. Assume that a person were to initally plant seeds in small containers such as yogurt cups. Then, suppose that before they were big enough to transplant, the plants got leggy. When the plants are transplanted into larger pots, would it be best to burry the plant a bit deeper than it was planted in the yogurt cup? If so, how deep could one bury the leggy plants without hurting them?
Thanks for taking time to look. And, thanks in advance for any information you are willing to share with me!! |

Well that initial seedling stretch can be sort or small depending on many factors... If your plant reaches far out from the soil don't be worried as you can bury the remainder of the stem... Any part of the plant that is under soil is called the subterainian part... And the subterainian stem will begin to grow roots naturally
so if you do get a big stretch just cover up the excess stem and within a couple weeks roots should be coming out of the burried stem |
