very nice photos asg
what are you feeding her atm? edit: you've been in flower for about 3 weeks the buds will need some Phosporous (P) and some Potassium (K) to continue to flourish, and as little nitrogen as possible, no more chook poo etc i use potash for K, liquid flowering ferts are more commonly used

mmm lookin delicious.
a long time ago now, my dad took a plant out of its pot to transplant, and he used his knife to cut into bottom at the edge 4 times or so. i don't know if he did it cause the plant had been in the pot for too long or if it was to accelerate its growth in the new pot. if anyone could answer this that'd be great. i'm so jealous i haven't even smoked ak47 before ![]() ![]()

i do that if the plant is severely rootbound
if you can detangle manually (best done with chopsticks imo) then you should if it's a tangled mess there is no room for transfer at the roots you rip off the ones at the base, make a few vertical cuts, and rake at the rootmass with fingers, or chopsticks it's going to cause the plant some stress, so you need to manage that by giving a dilute root friendly feed like seaweed based ferts, and let it harden off for a few days, or a few weeks for some plant types in the shade, or under fluros that will give the newly exposed roots a chance to get established before being required to operate fully |

Beautiful plant. Its looking very happy.
You have the green thumb...the special green thumb. ![]() Dont worry about growing in Miracle Grow soil. It is fine. I have grown for a long time and I used to buy the more expensive soils like sunshine mix. I have used Miracle Grow soil exclusively for the last 3 years now due to being able to buy it easier in normal stores like walmart. The chemical amendments that come in the soil are used up in around 30 days. I use an organic nutrient tea until the last 2 or 3 weeks when I flush well and only give plain water until its harvested. The buds taste great with no chemical taste and they burn to a nice white ash. So lots of plain water at the end and that AK will taste great. |

So, on alot of my leaves, the tips are white. Any guesses why? Cuz...I dunno.
The damaged and dying leaves are from way back when my dogs munched her, those aren't new or mysterious. Some info...she gets lots of sun and water and mother nature.

Some close ups.
If some of these appear upsidedown, they may be.

I'm not totally sure? It seems too soon? I was thinking/figuring probably mid October? I see how they're cloudy/amber but I don't know if it's half n' half? Maybe I should look at another leaf?

looks really good!
im not too sure about the white leaf tips... i would say beginning nute burn but youre not feeding are you? only water at this point... but i also might say she is low on Zn if new leaves were curled /weird looking, but it seems late to worry about at this point... anyway i dont think its a big deal, what have ur day/night temps been? hows the weather in general been? ur giving just plain water right? it wouldnt hurt to look at another leaf or 2, its hard to know if my monitor is showing th truth or not... anyway it looks good enough to cut (to me) tho im sure many ppl would say to let her go a little more, a week or two. it takes experience/knowing the plant to really know when she is at her absolute peak. i cant remember if ive grown AK before, i dont think, so im not really sure -but i am sure thats a noice looking plant, very close to ready. |

Thank you so much for all of that Veda! *hughughug*
Yup, just good ol' water, not feeding. Temps...well, it's about 100+ here right now, nights have been cooling off really nicely...our days however are still very warm. For the most part, highs in the 90's. This week coming up we're looking at the mid 80's. I'll probably look at another leaf or two, I'm thinkin' very close to ready as well.

I'd harvest now. I like the early harvest buzz better than the later harvest buzz. Either way, you can't go wrong.

Thanks SO much guys! I'm super super super excited!!!!
It's been about a week since I've taken those pics...or at least it will be by tuesday. NOW, onto harvesting. I plan on Googling some tips etc...I searched for a thread only about harvesting here, but couldn't find one? Maybe I missed it. Does anyone have any excellent tips on harvest? Begining to end?

Ok, I dug this up in one of our threads...
All sounds like a good plan, and it's doable for me. I have a small extra closet in our bedroom that can be for the hangin'. Anyone have anything else to add, tips...something you do specifically? Quote:

lots of old timers hung their plants upside down thinking it would make more resin flow down to the buds, but now we know it doesnt work like that. i always do the whole thing at once to get it over with
1. i cut all the branches apart 2 cut off all fan leaves 3 trim the buds saving the small leaves for the hash bucket and cut the buds off the stems 4 dry the buds on screens in a dark place w/ a fan then do the jars just like stoneric, except i make sure everything is dry enough so that i dont have to open the jars again and again, maybe only 2-3 times. -removing the buds from the stem right away really cuts down on drying time. if you dont have a big screen box or drying rack then hanging them is the best choice. leave only enough stem to hang them from, bcuz the more branch thats connected makes longer drying time. also a small fan not blowing directly but circulating air will help |

Thanks Veda! Excellent points!! Love the screen idea and fan to circ air. Very doable on my end.
**i'd have thanked the post, but I no longer have the option...maybe I've run out of thanks for this thread?** edit - nevermind...it's there now.
