2 different lights during flower

If I were to start my plant under a 250w for the first 4 weeks of flower and then move her to a 400w for the final 4 weeks, should I anticipate any problems?

Don`t see why it should cause problems, if anything it should reduce the chance of shocking them when they go under HID.

I wondered about starting flower with a MH and switching to HPS for the end.

In my opinion the only thing you will have to do is check the heat from the larger light and move it up 6-12in. or it could burn, dry leaves out, etc. You could save money by begginning with a 400w and just keep it a further distance away then u would with the 250w, good reflection will help save money as well.

p.s. im not a pro so get a second opinion

Yeah I got you but it set me thinking. Can`t see any problems arising.

in the natural cycle light intensity drops gradually during flower
but 'hydro' is hardly natural
i'm pretty sure the plant will adapt favourably

I'm trying to keep a continuos grow so I'm going to have 3 rooms. One for vegging and 2 for flower. I also have a small cab with a 105w fluoro that I'm going to start my plant in. I will veg for 4 weeks with a 200w fluoro, and then flower for 4 weeks in each flower room. I'm doing this because if I grow 1 large plant I will be violating my med restrictions which allow me to only have 2.5 ozs of usable smoke.

I'm not doing hydro. Does that change anything?

I've actually swithced from 250 to a 600 during the first week of flower a couple grows back and saw no problems... The biggest thing I noticed was the pre flowers were alot smaller... Not too sure if that affected my final weight or not but if you flower under the bigger light the preflowers or budsites are alot bigger
this is just from my experience not factual
