how long does it take

how long till harvesting will it be if i planted some seeds 3 days ago?

I put 2 seeds in a 7 inch bucket. I added some earth worms and put them next to a window. Eventually they'll end up in a closet. Before that though i imagine i'll have to get each their own bucket.

What kind of tips can you give me?

lighting, fans, watering, fertilizing ect.

and also are small seeds inferior? The seeds i planted are a little on the small side.

Anywhere from 2 and a half months to 8 months. Depends on the strain, conditions, etc..

The longer you grow them in the vegetative state(longer than 12 hour light period) then the more bud you will produce when you do switch them to flowering mode(12 or less hours of light a day). No, seed size doesn't matter unless they are oddly small.

If i understand this properly, you start at 14-16 hours of light a day and when you wish it to start flowering you cut the hours to about 12 a day? How can you tell when to make the switch?

I start out on 24/0.....and once they are at least 12 inches tall and healthy, I switch to 12/12. And for the last 2 weeks of flower I cut to 10 hours of light.

nuttin wrong with 14-16 either!

the switch will depend on how tall you want the end product and flowering space will kinda speak volumes too~

You can veg under 24 hrs lights on.

12 or less for flowering.

Switch when the plant is big enough. Bear in mind the plant tends to grow even more in flowering.

Look up preflowering.

Isn't it less than 14 but 12/12 has become the de facto flowering time?

Depends on the strain, sativa doms may require less than 12, indica may flower with more.

If you increase the flowering photoperiod slightly this will increase yield but take longer to finish, also the bud will be harder to manicure.

12 is a good rule of thumb.

Incandescent have a wire in a vacuum, when a current is passed through the wire it heats up and glows.

Fluorescent come in tubes or those energy saving things, they have some kind of gas/vapour inside which fluoresces when voltage is applied.

Incandescent bulbs are useless for horticultural purposes. Flouros are great.
