Hey i need some advise please, i have had problems with thrips a very long time ago. They would be located under the leaves and you could see the leaves also get a silver kind of tint to them and also turn yellow half way between. They were very hard to get rid of and also that was when i was doing soil. Now that im going to try and do hydroponics i was wonder if i get clones from a soil based grower 1: What kind of chances are there of having thrips? 2: Just because thrips are laying low and cannot be detected could they even survive without soil in a hydroponic system? Any input would be appreciated i was thinking of getting clones but my buddy has small signs of thrips in his soil based operation.
Fuck thrips!! Peace out Smoke blunts, JakeTheSnake |

Your best bet would be to ask around in the Growing the Good Herb forum, go on, avail yourself of Yahooka's collected growing knowledge!

I saw the other link you sent Pharm girl, thanks. It seems like thrips are only soil based but the link didnt say much about if i got a clone from a soil based operation and put into a immediate hydroponic operation. Im wondering could thrips survive just from the plant alone or do they need soil?

Yes thats what im thinking but does anyone know if you grow a plant in soil and then take a clone and put it into hydroponic(Water) with no soil can thrips still survive off the plant itself or die off without the soil even though the plant still grows??? I have been looking for this information online but i cannot find any information about thrips that isnt vauge in description to what im asking. I know there are really intelligent experienced growers who may be able to help . Pharm girl i appreciate the link again i need someone who basically has experience cloning and parasites.

Yes that sounds like a good idea. Thrips suck i dont ever wanna battle em again. Ill just pray the clones can take it. I use a product from fox farm last time but they were evil little fuckers. Dont think alot is good for the plant either and it doesnt really say anything about cutlings or clones. But anyhow thanks for the input guys.
