is it possible
that my plants could end up receiving as much or more light during flowering after the removal of males as they did during veg with more plants in the same closet space? Could this affect flowering?

the males take in more light, that doesnt mean theyre "stealing" light from the surrounding plants.

no, the issue of flowering is photoperiod not lumens or light intensity.
the plant makes a chemical called FT protein at a regular rate that causes flowering, but it is destroyed by light shining on the leaves. when the plant has a long enough dark period, the FT protein builds up in its system so that it isnt all destroyed by the light, and builds up again in the next dark period. after about a week of 12/12 there is enough FT protein that the plants go into full on flower mode... obviously its a lot more complex than that but thats my very basic understanding |
