Exclamation Stem Issue Please Help

My two plants are about 4 weeks old and are about 5 in. tall. I am growing them in a hydro setup with nutrients that I have used successfully before.

My problem is that the stem is thick at the base by the soil and then thins for about a half inch then thickens again. I'm not sure what is causing this. If you have any ideas let me know. Thanks.

Thanks for the info.
Sorry no pics.

Will the stem thicken up or is going to be weak for the duration of the grow?

it partially will but not till after flowering.

be sure to keep a constant small breeze on your girls. like point the fan just above them with a rotating fan or something.
